The Zelda series needed Hyrule Warriors.
First party Nintendo games, aside from Mario and Pokemon, don't really have any spinoff games. Namco Bandai's partnership with Nintendo and the games success will bring forth more spinoff games of great quality.
Hyrule Warriors is Namco Bandai's love letter to the Zelda series, simply put. This is a game of many firsts for the series.
- Play as the villains
- Play as the side characters
- Play as Princess Zelda
It brings a wave of empowerment to the Princess of Hyrule. No longer just taking a backseat to the hero of legend. It's refreshing, to say the least.
Hyrule Warriors is also spells one of the most worthwhile DLC content in sometime. Nintendo is a relative newcomer in the world of DLC and at one point was adamantly against it.
Nintendo's concern on DLC has been legitimate. Activision and EA are companies notorious for on-disc DLC hated by many.
Fire Emblem:Awakening first brought forth DLC in 2013. Containing new maps, classes and skills the DLC brought HOURS of gameplay to an already massive game.
This spells a reversal of thought over at Nintendo. Future titles now have potential of having content-expanding DLC without hindering the primary content.
